The Dave Campbell’s Texas Football San Antonio Inspirational Coach of the Week Award will honor eleven (11) head football coaches in the greater San Antonio area spotlighting their inspirational leadership during the Texas high school football season. Each winner will receive a commemorative football and $250 donation back to their program compliments of Great Clips.
At the end of the season, all 11 coaches will be in the running for the San Antonio Inspirational Coach of the Year Award.
Voting will open up in November and it will be up to each community to rally the vote to help lift their coach to the top. The coach who gathers the most end of the year votes will receive free haircuts for a year compliments of Great Clips!

Week 1 Winner - Nick Rogers, San Antonio Pieper
In only their second-year as a varsity program, Coach Nick Rogers helped lead his team to their first-ever non-district victory with a 62-0 win over Leander Glenn.

Coach Padilla’s Huskies broke a 13-game losing streak and beat San Antonio MacArthur for the first time since 1989 on Thursday with a 49-42 win over the Brahmas

Week 3 Winner - Eddie Salas, San Antonio Harlan
Coach Harlan’s Hawks started district play out with a bang Thursday stunning three-time defending district champion San Antonio Brennan 36-28 to seize early control in District 29-6A play.

Week 4 Winner - Mike Trevino, Lytle
First year head coach Mike Trevino has the Pirates 4-0 for the first time since 1975 after a 23-14 win over Natalia on Friday night.

Week 5 Winner - David Jones, Kerrville Tivy
Coach Jones has the Antlers off to an impressive 5-0 start after Tivy pulled off a 34-28 upset over state power Liberty Hill.

Week 6 Winner - Gary Gutierrez, John Jay
Gary Gutierrez, San Antonio Jay: Gutierrez’s Mustangs rolled in a Thursday night showdown of unbeaten as Jay improved to 6-0 with a 37-15 win over San Antonio Sotomayor. It’s Jay’s best start since the 2003 season.

Week 7 Winner - Elliott Ortiz, Universal City Randolph
Coach Ortiz has the Ro-Hawks soaring in 2023 as Randolph is off to a sensational 7-0 start after taking down Llano 24-7 to seize control of the 13-3A Division I race.

Week 8 Winner - Jeremy Williams, San Antonio Sam Houston
Second year head coach Jeremy Williams has the Hurricanes thinking playoffs in 2023 as they improved to 5-2 and 4-2 in district play with a key 28-22 win over San Antonio McCollum on Saturday afternoon.

Week 9 Winner - Michael Mull, San Antonio Burbank
First-year head coach Michael Mull’s Bulldogs improved to 7-1 on the year and 6-1 in district 14-5A Division II play with an impressive 35-21 win over San Antonio Harlandale.

Week 10 Winner - Albert Torres, San Antonio Harlandale
Coach Torres’ squad improved to 7-2 on the season with an important 47-34 win over San Antonio Jefferson on Thursday, the win secures a playoff spot for the Indians.

Week 11 Winner - Joe Hubbard, San Antonio East Central
Led the Hornets to a 45-21 win over San Marcos to clinch just their second playoff berth since 2015.
