As a former Dallas Cowboys executive and longtime Texas Stadium General Manager, Bruce Hardy was instrumental in turning the Cowboys' home field into the go-to venue for area high school teams.  Hardy was hired in 1984 to boost stadium revenue after Bum Bright purchased the Cowboys.  As GM, Hardy was able to attract some of music's biggest acts for concerts, and convinced school officials that Texas' most glamorous stadium wasn't just for state championship games.  Although Texas Stadium had been hosting a few high school games each year, Hardy expanded it to 30 or more games per year.  In 2010, after 38 years, Texas Stadium fell to the wrecking ball.  During those 38 years, Texas Stadium hosted about 700 high school playoff games.  Thanks to his hard work and dedication to Texas High School Football, Bruce Hardy made the dreams of many high school football teams come true. He was a true friend to Texas High School Football coaches and players.
