Brent Duhon played a vital role in helping Port Arthur Jefferson reach the 5A state championship game in 1980. He caught 89 passes that season for 1,380 yards and 19 touchdowns, earning first-team All-State and Parade All-American distinction. Duhon was a two-time District Offensive Player of the Year and finished his high school career (1978-1980) with 2,663 receiving yards, 180 receptions and 30 touchdowns. He set state records in career receptions (180) and receptions in a season (89). Duhon went on to start three seasons as a wide receiver at the University of Texas where he caught 53 passes for 1,032 yards and seven touchdowns in his college career.
