Allie White of Masonic Home was the first three-time (1932-34) all-state player in Texas high school football history. At 6’2” and 195 lbs. he was a star tackle for Coach H.N. “Rusty” Russell. During his prep career White made the All-Southern team twice; won four letters in football, captained his team twice, played on two undefeated teams. The 1932 “Mighty Mite” team tied Corsicana 0-0 in the state championship game but lost on penetrations. In the 1932 semi-final against Amarillo White, who was suffering from the flu, blocked an extra point to preserve a 7-6 Masonic Home victory. He then played at TCU from 1936-1938 and was voted “Best All-Around Player” on the school’s 1938 National Championship team. White played one year of professional football with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1939.
