3A: Craig Smith, Hitchcock
Smith's talented squad has been playing up a classification for four straight weeks and has come away with four consecutive wins, including this week's dominant 42-10 victory over Silsbee.
2A: Kyle Hardee, Centerville
Centerville battled back from a halftime deficit to pull off a 41-40 win in a thriller over a 3A Division II opponent Rogers.
1A: Chris Gaspar, Follett
The Panthers secured a 70-50 win over Booker, who came into Friday night's tilt averaging 64 points per game.
PVT: Tim Phillips, Austin Regents
Regents took the lead with a go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter and then rode a 21-point run, securing a 42-21 victory over Bullard Brook Hill.

The Mustangs entered 2024 riding a 21-game losing streak, but Ortiz has led them to back-to-back wins to open the season.
4A: Steven Hohenberger, Paris
Pulled off a huge 7-0 win over heavily favored Texarkana Pleasant Grove in an old-school defensive battle that was decided by a 100-yard interception return.
3A: Isaac Hernandez, Progreso
The Red Ants snapped a 36-game losing streak with a 48-0 win over Riviera Kaufer. Premont is on deck.
2A: Shane Fletcher, Honey Grove
A 21-20 win over Marlin in a 2A classic cements the Warriors as a state title contender.
