Baylor secured a major recruiting victory as DCTF four-star WR London Smith (6'0, 175) announced his commitment to the Bears, choosing to stay home over offers from Texas, Texas A&M and many more.

Smith, a standout at Waco University, won’t have to travel far for the next chapter of his career—just “right around the corner” to McLane Stadium.

But Baylor isn’t just close to home; it’s in his blood.

Smith’s father, Rodney Smith, was a three-year starter at safety for the Bears from 1996-1999, finishing his career as the program’s No. 8 all-time leader in total tackles. He also starred on Baylor’s basketball team, making him a rare two-sport athlete.

His mother, Stacey Smith, is an associate head coach for Baylor’s track and field program and a Hall of Famer in her own right. She became the school’s first female individual national champion in 1999, winning the outdoor triple jump title, and she was inducted into the Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009.

“My mom always taught me to stay humble,” Smith said. “My dad told me the same thing—stay working because it can all be taken from you.”

Now, London is ready to make his mark in green and gold.
