Texas State running back Ismail Mahdi plans to enter the Transfer Portal, per a report from On3.
Mahdi had an illustrious two-season run at Texas State, earning First Team All-American status in 2023 and following it up with a First Team All-Sun Belt Conference nod in 2024. He rushed for 2,322 yards and 14 touchdowns combined, and was also a receiving threat with 44 receptions for 470 yards over those two years.
The Plano East alum began his career at Houston Christian. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
