With 30 scholarship offers, Legacy School of Sports Sciences 2026 QB/ATH Keisean Henderson (6'4, 180) is considered one of the top recruits in the Lone Star State.

On Memorial Day, he shocked the recruiting world by announcing his commitment to Willie Fritz and the Houston Cougars.

Henderson became the highest-rated offensive commitment in the history of UH football and the second highest-rated commit of all time, following former Spring Westfield five-star DT Ed Oliver.

"They (Houston) have been showing me love since day one," Henderson said.

Rated nationally as the No. 1 athlete by 247Sports, Henderson plans to play quarterback at the collegiate level.

His first offer came from Houston QB Coach/Passing Game Coordinator Shawn Bell when Bell was at Baylor, and Bell has consistently targeted Henderson as a quarterback from the start.

"They have made it known that they want me to be their quarterback of the future," Henderson said. "I am going to play quarterback in college. You can call me an athlete if you want to, but in my heart, I am a quarterback."

Henderson's statistics highlight his versatility and talent. As a sophomore, he passed for 2,025 yards and 25 touchdowns. He had 74 receptions for 1,135 yards and 14 touchdowns as a freshman.

His multi-faceted skill set underscores his athleticism and ability to excel at the quarterback position, similar to his favorite player, former NFL MVP Cam Newton.

"I look up to Cam Newton," Henderson said. "He is a different guy. When he is on the field, he has just got his own swag, and that is how I want to play the game."

Scouting Report: Henderson's overall athletic profile is impressive. He possesses solid quarterback fundamentals and demonstrates an excellent ability to keep his eyes downfield even under pressure. Rather than taking off at the first sign of trouble, he shows poise by stepping up, sliding in the pocket, and delivering the ball accurately. When he does decide to run, his skills are exceptional, showcasing his ability to make significant plays with his legs. In addition to his quarterback prowess, Henderson has outstanding hands, length and ball skills as a wide receiver or safety prospect.

Henderson's unique high school background further sets him apart. He will enter college with five years of varsity experience, as his high school allows eighth graders to compete at the varsity level.

"It is like something you would dream of," Henderson said of playing his first varsity game at such a young age. "It is like a college atmosphere but in a smaller environment where everybody can get work in, and they just feed into you and develop you into the person that you always wanted to be."

Reflecting on his early experiences, Henderson added, "I was a little bit nervous at first, but I feel like when the moment hit me, and I got hit the first time, I felt like I could do it all over again, so now I just pursue every day to try and get better."

Now that he is committed, Henderson hopes to continue to impact UH's recruiting efforts.

"Let's shock the world," Henderson posted!
