Hard to believe, but we're less than two weeks out from everyone's favorite mid-day TV viewing, the NFL Scouting Combine. Here's a reference for every Texas FBS player you can watch sprint in spandex.
Texas Longhorns
RB Jonathon Brooks
Brooks will not participate in on-field drills as he rehabs from a torn ACL sustained in Texas's Week 11 win over TCU. He is the No.1-ranked running back on ESPN Draft Expert Mel Kiper's Big Board after rushing for 1,139 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2023. Even with the injury, The Athletic's Dane Brugler has Brooks mocked as a second round pick.
RB Keilan Robinson
Robinson, who began his career at Alabama, compiled 542 rushing yards and 332 receiving yards over three seasons at Texas. He should run well in the 40-yard-dash and will look to find a role in the league as a special teams contributor.
WR Adonai Mitchell
Mitchell earned Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year honors in his lone season at Texas. The Georgia transfer set career marks with 55 receptions for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns. He is a fringe first round selection depending on his Combine performance.
WR Jordan Whittington
One of the most respected players on Texas's roster, Whittington was an integral piece to the program's first College Football Playoff berth, but his contributions weren't easily deciphered from the stat sheet. Teams will have questions about his medical history (three season-ending injuries).
WR Xavier Worthy
A three-time All-Big 12 selection, Worthy ranks third in Texas history with 26 receiving touchdowns and fourth with 2,755 receiving yards in just three seasons. He was the first recruit Steve Sarkisian signed as Texas's head coach, flipping his NLI from Michigan in 2021. He may fall to the second round despite first-round production due to size concerns.
TE Ja'Tavion Sanders
Sanders came into college unsure which side of the ball he'd play on and finished his Texas career as the program leader in tight end receptions with 99. He's firmly in the TE2 rank behind Georgia's Brock Bowers and could sneak into the first round with a good Combine performance.
RT Christian Jones
Jones has a case for Texas's most improved player after a six-year career with 48 starts. At 6-foot-6 and 321 pounds, he has ideal NFL size.
DT Byron Murphy II
Murphy broke out in 2023, earning Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year and DCTF First Team All-Texas honors. The DeSoto product is in a battle with front-seven running mate T'Vondre Sweat to be the first Texas player in the 2023 NFL Draft.
LB Jaylan Ford
Ford was an overlooked recruit in the Class of 2020 out of Frisco Lone Star who became a two-time First Team All-Big 12 performer in 2022 and 2023. He was the first Texas player with back-to-back 100-tackle seasons since Keenan Robinson in 2010-11.
CB Ryan Watts
Watts started 23 games for Texas over the past two seasons after transferring from Ohio State. His size (6-foot-3, 206 pounds) gives him the versatility to play both corner and safety, but all eyes will be on his 40-time at the NFL Combine.
DT T'Vondre Sweat
TCU Horned Frogs
RB Emani Bailey
Bailey led the Big 12 in yards per carry on TCU's national championship team behind Kendre Miller, then took lead back duties in 2023 and ran with it. He finished with 1,209 yards and eight touchdowns, earning Second Team All-Texas honors.
TE Jared Wiley
Wiley, who began his career at Texas, led TCU in 2023 with eight receiving touchdowns. He could shock scouts and propel his NFL Draft stock at the Combine with his blend of size (6-foot-7, 260) and athleticism (a former quarterback at Temple High School).
RT Andrew Coker
Coker has prototypical tackle size at 6-foot-7, 315 pounds, and got his pre-Draft process started at the East-West Shrine Bowl.
LT/LG Brandon Coleman
A second team All-Big 12 selection in 2023, Coleman has position versatilty with numerous starts at both tackle and guard during his TCU career. His basketball background growing up in Germany shows up in his game tape.
S Millard Bradford
Bradford started 20 games at safety over the past two seasons to close out his TCU career.
CB Josh Newton
A two-time All-Big 12 honoree at cornerback, Newton had 21 pass breakups over 27 games started in his only two seasons at TCU. He's the program's top Draft prospect as of right now.
Texas A&M Aggies
WR Ainias Smith
Smith could've declared for the NFL Draft at the conclusion of the 2022 season in which he played just four games due to a season-ending injury, but returned in 2023 to lead Texas A&M with 795 yards. His contributions as a punt returner in college should give him added intrigue for NFL teams.
RG Layden Robinson
Robinson started 33 games at right guard over his final three seasons at Texas A&M and was an All-SEC Second Team selection in 2021.
DT McKinnley Jackson
A two-year captaIn for the Aggies, Jackson totaled 15.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks over a four-year career.
LB Edgerrin Cooper
Cooper was the heart and soul of Texas A&M's 2023 defense, leading the team with 84 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and eight sacks. He has a chance to become the second Texas A&M linebacker in the 21st century to be drafted in the first two rounds. Cooper is Mel Kiper's No.1-rated off-ball linebacker.
S Demani Richardson
Richardson started 55 games for the Aggies over a five-year career. He's a willing tackler but will need to answer questions about his coverage ability.
Texas Tech Red Raiders
DE Myles Cole
Cole has the measurables of an NFL defensive end with a 6-foot-6, 280-pound frame. He finished tied for second on the Red Raiders in 2023 with 6.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
S Tyler Owens
Owens, who began his career at Texas, was a top-rated recruit out of Plano East who developed into a solid contributor for Texas Tech. He should shine in the 40-yard dash.
S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
Taylor-Demerson was a ballhawk in 2023, leading Texas Tech with four interceptions and earning First Team All-Texas honors. NFL teams may have concerns about his size (5-foot-11, 195), the "Rabbit" was one of the Red Raiders's best defensive performers.
Baylor Bears
DL Gabe Hall
Hall turned heads at the 2024 Senior Bowl and could continue to shoot up Draft Boards at the NFL combine. His stats on a struggling Baylor defense in 2023 don't tell the whole story of his game.
Houston Cougars
LT Patrick Paul
Paul allowed just one sack in 1,034 pass blocking reps over the past two seasons, earning DCTF's Best Offensive Lineman in Texas honors. He is a fringe first round selection with NFL pedigree (his brother, Chris, is an offensive lineman on the Washington Commanders).
DL Nelson Ceasar
Ceasar was a First Team All-Big 12 honoree in 2023 after leading the Big 12 with 9.5 sacks. He's seeking to become the fourth Houston defensive linemen drafted since 2019.
DL David Ugwoegbu
Ugwoegbu played one season at Houston after transferring from Oklahoma and made seven starts at linebacker. But Ugwoegbu has beefed up his 6-foot-4 frame to transition to defensive line in the NFL.
Rice Owls
WR Luke McCaffrey
McCaffrey began his career as a quarterback at Nebraska before transferring to Rice and switching to wide receiver, channel his father, Ed. He led Rice in receiving this past season by more than double and earned First Team All-Texas wide receiver. He's a crafty route runner who'll need a solid performance in the 40-yard-dash.
UTEP Miners
LB Tyrice Knight
Knight led the FBS with 84 solo tackles and earned First Team All-Texas linebacker. He's seeking to become the third UTEP player in the 21st century selected in the NFL Draft.
