Coming off of an undefeated season in 9-6A, Sachse head coach Mark Behrens is excited about his returning talent, including WR Kaliq Lockett, WR Santana Quinn, DT Corey Walls, LB Sean DaVault, LB Vashon Brunswick and more.
WR Kaliq Lockett (6'1, 170): The 2025 four-star had a dominant junior season, collecting 59 receptions for 1,299 yards and 13 touchdowns. Lockett is an athletic outside wide receiver with an abnormally large (6-foot-7) catch radius and the ability to high-point the football. His ability to make plays in contested catch situations showcases his athleticism and unique ability to thrive under pressure. Known for his knack for high-pointing the ball, he consistently outleaps defenders to secure receptions. This skill becomes particularly valuable in red-zone situations, where his ball-tracking abilities and reliable hands make him a potent weapon. As a result, he becomes a reliable go-to option when the team needs to convert in crucial moments. His combination of acrobatics, ball awareness, and hands makes him a formidable force, especially when the game is on the line. Lockett has 18 offers, including Texas Tech, LSU, Michigan and Penn State. Schools like USC, Ohio State, Georgia and Texas also show strong interest.
WR Santana Quinn (6'2, 180): Quinn missed a portion of the 2023 season with injury but bounced back to finish with 16 receptions for 260 yards and four touchdowns. Quinn is another wide receiver with long arms made for plucking balls out of the air over the top of defenders. He is also an excellent student, and that should help his recruitment. Due to limited tape, the offseason and the spring evaluation period will be significant for his recruitment as colleges will be impressed with his skill set. Any quarterback would be in an ideal situation with receivers like Lockett and Quinn to throw to, and senior QB Brenden George took advantage, passing for nearly 3,000 yards.
DT Corey Walls (6'2, 260): Playing defensive tackle in a 4-3 scheme, Walls is powerful enough to play gap-sound defense and quick enough to disrupt the line of scrimmage. He uses his hands extremely well to get off of blocks but does not waste time hand-fighting. He redirects with a purpose and finds the ball. UTSA was his first scholarship offer, and he is also receiving interest from schools like Texas State and Oklahoma State.
OLB Sean DaVault (6'1, 220): DaVault was recently named the 9-6A Defensive Player of the Year after racking up 116 tackles, 19 TFLs, and seven sacks. Boasting a 315-pound bench press, the outside backer is a force coming downhill and arrives at the ball with bad intentions. Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Kansas are showing DaVault early attention.
ILB Vashon Brunswick (6'1, 215): A powerful inside linebacker with the frame and strength to quickly put ball carriers to the turf. If he can get a hand on you, you will go down. Brunswick has already secured an offer from Colorado and played for Deion Sanders' Prime Truth teams as a youth player, "It meant everything to me," Brunswick said. "As a kid, I grew up playing for Coach Prime in his youth football program. It felt good to get an offer from them." Brunswick also receives attention from Arizona State, Baylor, Texas Tech, North Texas, Maryland, Oklahoma State and Arkansas.
Other Names to Know: 2025 RB Brendon Haygood (5'10, 180), 2025 OL Aidan Pierce (6'4, 270), 2027 DE/DT Trason Haley (6'3, 260)
