Richland 2024 OL Daniel Cruz (6'4, 295) has committed to Texas over Oklahoma, Ohio State and Texas A&M offers.

Cruz is rated as the No. 1 OC prospect in the 2024 DCTF Rising Hot 100, checking in as the No. 27 prospect overall in the state.

The DCTF four-star collected first-team all-district honors as a junior in 2022.

Scouting Report: Cruz will be a four-year varsity starter and enter college with many game reps under his belt. He exhibits remarkable strength in the weight room, effortlessly squatting over 500 pounds. As a prototype interior lineman, he possesses the ability to smoothly execute pulls and adeptly handles situations at the second level, effectively securing blocks against smaller and quicker defenders. When confronted head-on, Cruz possesses the capacity to utterly dominate his adversaries, leaving them flat. Notably, he often reveals a mean streak, fueling his performance with ferocity. His combination of skills and experience should allow him to make an early contribution at the next level at either center or guard.
