North Shore 2021 QB Dematrius Davis (6'0, 200) committed to Auburn during a broadcast on Texan Live.
Davis picked the Tigers over offers from LSU, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.
"I feel great," Davis said. "It is a dream come true. I will be going to Auburn University, so yeah, War Eagle! It was the best decision for me. I just know it is."
Davis, who collected over 25 scholarship offers, said that the decision-making process was a tough one.
The four-star was committed to Virginia Tech for almost six months, so breaking his pledge was a difficult thing to do, but Auburn underneath the guidance of two of the nation's top offensive minds in Gus Malzahn and Chad Morris is a unique situation.
"It was very tough," Davis reported. "Coming off a recent commitment to VT, it was very hard. But I feel like it is the right decision."
"The more I talked to coach Malzahn; he just planned it up real good for me."
Davis has helped lead North Shore to two 6A Division I state championships. He has passed for over 5,700 yards and 73 touchdowns and rushed for over 1,500 yards and 27 scores.
Heading into his senior year, Davis is already considered as one of the best to ever lace them up in TXHSFB.
"Auburn is getting a player that is going to be a leader," Davis answered when asked what Auburn is getting. "I don't talk too much, but I try to lead by example."
Davis checks in as the No. 27 prospect in the DCTF Hot 100.
