Former five-star wide receiver Micah Hudson is transferring back to Texas Tech, sources confirm to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. Hudson, who signed with the Red Raiders out of Lake Belton High School in the 2024 class, transferred to Texas A&M after the season but did not participate in spring ball with the Aggies. He put his name back into the portal when the summer window opened in mid-April and is expected back in Lubbock for the summer.
Hudson played in eight games last year and ended the season with eight catches for 123 yards. The receiving corps was stacked with Josh Kelly, Caleb Douglas, and Coy Eakin all registering at least 49 receptions and five touchdowns. Snaps should be easier to find for Hudson with Kelly off to the NFL. Hudson also arrived on campus last year with an injury that didn’t allow him to be a full participant all summer and for most of fall camp.
Texas Tech signed the top portal class in America and Hudson’s potential only adds to the haul. The Red Raiders are all-in for the 2025 season as they reinforced the ranks for a run at the Big 12 championship and a berth into the College Football Playoff. They begin the season Aug. 30, at home against Arkansas Pine-Bluff.
