The Under Armour Next Football Camp Series made its annual stop in the Houston area on Sunday. Standouts can earn positional MVP honors and invitations to the Under Armour Next All-America Game or UA Next Future 50 Camp.
Here are five RISING UNDERCLASSMEN who competed alongside elite upperclassmen to prove they deserve the attention of elite colleges.
2027 Shadow Creek DB Brandon Sherarrd, 2027 Cedar Hill DL Jalen Brewster, 2027 Kingwood OT Kennedy Brown, 2027 DeSoto RB Myson Johnson-Cook, 2027 Spring Westfield LB Davon Smith and 2028 RB Christopher Chizer Jr. were all mentioned as MVPs and Top Performers article for their standouts performances and you can read about them HERE.
Manvel 2027 CB Karnell James Jr. (6'1, 170) lived up to his nickname 'Greedy' in coverage. His length and lightning-quick closing speed allowed him to consistently get hands on the football during 1-on-1s. With early offers from Baylor, SMU, TCU, and Houston, he’s a name to know in the 2027 DB class nationally.
Cibolo Steele 2027 S Eli Johnson (6'3, 200) was one of the more physically imposing defenders in attendance. At his size, he has the potential to grow into a hybrid safety or linebacker role, but he currently excels in space. His offer list is already double-digit deep, featuring Baylor, TCU, Florida State, and Oklahoma.
Cypress Falls 2027 DE Kaden McCarty (6'2, 205) is an athletic edge defender, who flashed his pass-rushing traits during drills and one-on-ones. He has early offers from Baylor, Houston, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Nebraska and more.
Cypress Ranch 2027 QB Braden Baker (6'4, 170) Caught my eye multiple times throughout the event, showing enough arm strength to cut through the wind and boasting a projectable frame that points to long-term upside. Baylor, Houston, UTSA and Louisiana Tech have already extended offers.
South Houston 2027 DE Xavier Muhammad (6'3, 225), a four-star defensive lineman, showed high upside. He was fluid in movement drills and continued to show why he’s already regarded as one of the state’s top defensive front prospects.
2027 Langham Creek DL Ezekiel Ayangbile (6'3, 265) is a versatile defensive lineman, impressed with his ability to move across the line. Whether lined up inside or rushing from the edge, he showed the strength and quickness to be disruptive. He was one of the 5 Genetic Cheat Codes at the event.
Dripping Springs 2027 OL Hudson Whitenight (6'4, 270) stood out early with his foot speed and balance at tackle. He may project inside long-term, but his versatility is a major plus. Nebraska was the first to offer — more should be on the way.
Austin Westlake 2027 OL Jackson Cook (6'4, 290) held his own against some of the camp’s top defensive linemen. He’s nimble for his size and plays with an edge, giving Westlake a promising protector for newly committed QB Rees Wise (Ole Miss).
Hutto 2027 OG Jayden Mack (6'3, 335) was one of the more active interior linemen on hand. He brings size, effort and intensity to every rep. It’s easy to see why he holds early offers from Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor and Houston.
Fort Bend Crawford 2027 WR Alvin Mosley (6'1, 175) continues to prove himself as a top playmaker in the 2026 class. He tracks the ball well, attacks the catch point, and showed off some acrobatic grabs in 1-on-1s. Houston, SMU, Texas Tech, and Florida State have already offered.
2028 Clear Lake DB Terrell Stinson Jr. (5'9, 160) earned an invite after a strong showing at Saturday’s UA combine and was named DCTF Underclassman of the Week. He’s a stock-up candidate heading into spring football.
2028 ATH Jamarios Canton (6'4, 255) was arguably the most physically impressive freshman in attendance. His size, mobility and projection give him a rare ceiling. He’s already firmly among the top names in the 2028 cycle.
Klein Oak 2028 RB Micah Rhodes (5'10, 180) drew plenty of attention post-camp — and for good reason. He has size, fluidity, and a loaded offer sheet that already includes Baylor, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Penn State.
Shadow Creek 2028 WR Jaylen Addai (6'0, 160), the son of former NFL RB Joseph Addai, looked smooth through drills and displayed natural hands during 1-on-1s. He already holds offers from Nebraska and SMU, and his separation ability should keep attention coming his way.
West Orange-Stark 2027 S Jamorion Degay (6'0, 180), Klein Oak 2027 CB Quincy Carter (6'3, 180), and College Park S James Cabarrus III (6'0, 170) all earned invites back for Sunday’s UA Camp after strong showings at Saturday’s Combine. Each prospect stood out physically and backed it up with competitive reps.
San Antonio Johnson 2027 DB Mikhail McCreary (6'1, 175) is putting together an impressive offseason. After making waves at the Elite 11/All 22 stop, he followed that with another standout performance at the UA event. McCreary is a smooth mover with solid instincts and offers from Baylor, Houston, Texas Tech and UTSA.
