What's the Best College Town in Texas?
ASHLEY PICKLE
Denton -- Call me biased all you want but Denton is everything you could want in a college town. It's a large city that has the heart and community of a small town. UNT has a beautiful campus, the downtown square offers so many things to do and great places to eat, and Fry street doesn't need an explanation for any college kid that has been. Not to mention it's only 40 miles away from Dallas, Fort Worth and Winstar Casino in Oklahoma.

El Paso — There’s few places as striking as the Sun City, where the mountains meet the desert, but when you add in some of the friendliest folks in Texas and some of the best food in America, EP’s got it all.

I believe Austin is still a college town because Texas and the city have grown together. It has the big time sports, the night life and the breakfast tacos.

Favorite college town is San Marcos. Beautiful campus with a river running through it. Close to Austin and places like Wimberely and New Braunfels. I’ve had way too much fun on the square.
MALLORY HARTLEY
I might be biased, but North Texas has one of the best college campuses in the state. So many great restaurants, shops, and the Denton Square is one of its best attractions!

Alpine: The home of Sul Ross is one of the most beautiful towns in the state and about a 90 minute drive from Big Bend. If natural beauty and isolation isn't your thing, there's amazing places to eat and cool historical sites like Kokernot Field.

Favorite college town: San Antonio. What's not to love about the Alamo City? Whether you're watching a game at Trinity or UIW, or visiting the River Walk, the scenery is second to none.

San Marcos - It's small enough to feel close-knit, but big enough to stay exciting - river life, a lively downtown, and a growing football culture at Texas State. It’s chill with a side of rowdy!

Austin. It has always been a blast to visit for state events and live shows.

HOMER PICK ALERT - If you know me then this comes as no surprise, but it just rings true for me. Yes, Austin is GROWING. But it will forever be the place where hole in the wall music venues were on every corner, where Leslie was living it up on 6th Street, where Dirty Martin's was THE PLACE to go for a burger, where "The Drum" was rockin, where Magnolia Cafe on Lake Austin was always open, and where the best hip hop downtown was in the back room of Shakespear's (IYKYK).
