Hard-Hitting South Oak Cliff LB Commits to Baylor

For the second consecutive recruiting cycle, Baylor bolstered its recruiting efforts with a commitment from Dallas ISD powerhouse South Oak Cliff in 2026 LB Jamarion Phillips (6'2, 220), a hard-hitting DCTF three-star prospect who helped lead his team to a fourth consecutive 5A Division II state championship appearance, earning all-state and all-area honors along the way. 

Phillips will be following 2025 BU signee Kamauryn Morgan to Waco from SOC.

Phillips fielded over 25 offers from programs across the country, including Arizona State, Arkansas, Illinois, Oklahoma, SMU and TCU. However, Baylor’s persistence—led by ace recruiter Khenon Hall—gave the Bears an edge in landing his commitment.
