Blanco Athletic Director and Head Football Coach Jamie Dixon announced his resignation on Monday after leading the Panthers athletic program the past three seasons.

Dixon posted a 26-12 record at Blanco and led the Panthers to a regional semifinal appearance in 2022 and a regional final appearance in 2023.

He holds an impressive 64-25 career record as a head coach.  He led Vanderbilt Industrial from 2018-2021, which included three consecutive 11-win seasons from 2019-2021; he made the regional finals in 2021.

Prior to taking the Industrial job, Dixon was a long-time assistant coach at Giddings and he’s also served as an assistant coach at Ingleside, La Marque, Gonzales and Greenville.

His name has been linked to at least one high-profile job opening, so don’t expect Dixon’s free-agency to last very long considering his track record of success.

Blanco, has been a consistent winning program in the Texas Hill Country having missed the playoffs just three times in the past 31 seasons and the Panthers are fresh off an 8-5 2024 campaign in Dixon’s final season at the helm. Once the job is posted, expect this to get a lot of interest considering the location near both Austin and San Antonio in the Hill Country and Blanco’s track record of recent success.
