BRENHAM, Texas – It's not often that an underclassman earns a spot on the prestigious Whataburger Super Team, but that is exactly what happened this week at Brenham High School when sophomore running back Jakoby Dixon (5'9, 190) secured the honor.
Dixon, already rated as a DCTF four-star prospect, has been one of the most electrifying players in Texas high school football. His dominant sophomore season, which helped lead Brenham to an 11-2 record, has captured the attention of college programs nationwide. He already holds offers from Baylor, Houston, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Ohio State and more.
"It was an amazing season getting the opportunity to go out there and prove what I could do," Dixon said.
Brenham head coach Danny Youngs is thrilled to see Dixon receive this recognition and excited about what's ahead for the standout playmaker.
"We knew he was going to have a big season this year," Youngs said. "He played varsity as a freshman and had over 1,000 yards. It's not just the stats that make him special—it's how he interacts with his teammates. He is truly a team leader and a community leader."
