In honor of St. Patrick's Day, here’s a look at the most iconic Texas talent in Notre Dame history.
WR Tim Brown (Dallas Wilson) – The 1987 Heisman Trophy winner is one of Notre Dame’s most iconic players. A dynamic wide receiver, he earned All-American honors and had a standout NFL career, playing 17 seasons with the Raiders and earning a spot in both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame.
DL Mike Golic Sr. (Dallas Jesuit) – A dominant force on Notre Dame’s defensive line in the early 1980s. After a successful college career, he played 11 seasons in the NFL, leaving a lasting legacy with the Eagles, Dolphins and Saints while becoming a well-known media figure at ESPN.
DE Ross Browner (Houston Warren) – Helped lead Notre Dame to national championships in 1973 and 1977, earning two-time All-American honors and winning the 1976 Outland Trophy. A fierce pass rusher, Browner also had a successful NFL career with the Bengals.
DT Jerry Tillery (The Colony) – Was a dominant defensive presence at Notre Dame, recording over 20 tackles for loss and 11 sacks in his final seasons. A first-round NFL Draft pick in 2019, he cemented his legacy as one of Notre Dame’s top defensive linemen.
OL Dave Huffman (Dallas Jefferson) – A key member of Notre Dame’s 1977 national championship team, Huffman was a consensus All-American. His leadership and play in the trenches helped lay the foundation for one of Notre Dame’s most dominant teams.
