In honor of March Madness, Dave Campbell's Texas Football has compiled a list of the best dual-sport football recruits in the State of Texas for the 2026 and 2027 cycles.

2026

Frisco Panther Creek ATH Jalen Lott: Lott's trophy case must be reaching max capacity. He got District 7-4A DI Offensive MVP in 2024 after winning the Class 4A state title with a 22-9.25 long jump. Lott has 47 offers including Texas, Oregon and USC. His parents were both athletes at Texas and his sister, Jasmyn, plays for the UNLV women's basketball team.

DT Za'Qwaun Nunn: Nunn was named District 24-6A Defensive MVP after posting 90 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and eight sacks. As a sophomore, he upset senior Jacob Henry in the 285-pound division for a Class 6A wrestling championship. Nunn finished that season 42-3 overall.

Winnsboro WR Camden Capehart: Capehart, a Mississippi State commit, earned First Team All-District honors for Winnsboro last season with 1,379 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns. His blazing speed on the football field is backed up by his track times. He won the Texas 3A state championship in the 100-meter dash with a 10.44. Capehart is also a key member of Winnsboro's baseball team, which went 24-8-1 last season.

Carthage QB Jett Surratt: Surratt has compiled a 28-2 record in two years starting for his father, Scott, at Carthage. In 2024, he earned District 8-4A DII Co-MVP and helped secure Carthage's 10th state championship since 2008. He's also ring chasing on the golf course as part of Carthage's state-qualifying golf team last spring. On the gridiron, he has offers from Texas Tech, Houston, UTSA and UTEP, among others.

Honey Grove ATH Ryelan Morris: The Baylor commit racked up 1,871 total yards and 31 touchdowns in just seven games. Then he dashed right into basketball season with an all-district nod for the area champion Warriors. Last spring, he finished third in the Texas 2A 100-meter dash with a 10.84 and second in the 200 with a 21.97.

Waco Connally ATH Jamarion Vincent: Vincent, a Baylor commit, was named First Team All-District Utility Player because he does it all for Waco Connally. He had 34 tackles and eight pass breakups on defense and compiled 1,941 total yards as a quarterback. Vincent also earned TABC All-Region for the basketball team.

Wolfforth Frenship WR Chase Campbell: Campbell secured First Team All-District wide receiver honors with 82 receptions for 1,511 yards and 18 touchdowns. He's just as impressive on the basketball court, earning All-Region accolades for Wolfforth Frenship's area champion basketball team. He has 20 offers, including SMU, TCU, Baylor and Texas Tech.

Waco University WR London Smith: Smith had 626 receiving yards and five touchdowns in an injury-shortened 2024 campaign, but the Baylor commit made up for lost time on the basketball court with a second consecutive All-Region selection. His father, Rodney, ranks eighth all-time in solo tackles for Baylor and his mother, Stacey, was the 1999 NCAA National Champion in the triple jump.

Iowa Colony WR Jayden Warren: Warren caught 14 touchdowns and a First Team All-District wide receiver selection for Iowa Colony, but his athleticism translates to the basketball court and track. He has two bronze medals from the Class 4A 100 (10.59) and 200 (21.07). Warren was also second leg of the silver medalist 4x100 relay team. He has 32 offers, including Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Oklahoma.

2027

Anna OL Peyton Miller: Miller is a two-time all-district linemen with experience playing tackle, guard and center, but his versatility doesn't stop on the gridiron. Miller is a state championship qualifying wrestler, taking after his oldest brother, current Lamar linebacker CJ, who qualified in 2022 and 2024. Miller has 22 offers, including TCU, SMU and Texas Tech.

DeSoto RB Myson Johnson-Cook: Remember that viral photo of the Texas high school 100-meter  where the eighth-place finisher ran a 10.46? Johnson-Cook clocked a 10.33 as a sophomore. At 6-2, 220, Johnson-Cook had 90 rushing attempts for 921 yards and 14 touchdowns spelling Texas A&M commit Deondrae Riden last year. He has 20 offers, including Georgia, Oregon and USC.

Flower Mound Marcus QB Colton Nussmeier: Nussmeier threw for 16 touchdowns and three interceptions in his first season as a starter and enjoyed similar success on the hardwood, earning District Newcomer of the Year while averaging 10 points and nine rebounds per game. Nussmeier, the son of New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Doug and brother of LSU Tigers quarterback Garrett, has 18 offers, including Alabama, LSU, and Michigan.

Palestine Westwood QB Kavian Bryant: Bryant earned District 9-3A DI Co-MVP as a sophomore with 2,442 yards, 34 touchdowns and three interceptions to go with over 700 rushing yards. He also has five offers to play basketball, including Texas and Texas Tech, after averaging 30 points per game for Westwood's 22-8 team.

Red Oak CB Dhillon McGee: McGee is never not in season. He is a cornerback with 14 offers, just ran a 10.58 100 in track, and also plays baseball.

Columbus WR Braylon Fisher:  Fisher was part of two state championship appearances for Columbus this season as a wide receiver on the football team and guard on the basketball team. He has an offer from TCU.
