This Week in 'Crootin!

Diving into the latest Texas high school football recruiting news with three weekly superlatives: Prospect on the Rise, Commit of the Week, and Underclassman of the Week.

Don't miss our discussion on Texas Football Today, where I break down this notebook in more depth with Greg Tepper and Ashley Pickle.

Prospect on the Rise - North Forney 2026 QB/ATH Legend Bey

The 5-foot-11, 185-pounder has been on fire over the past month, including new offers from Texas A&M and Georgia this week, joining programs like SMU, Boston College, Duke, Navy, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Tulane and West Virginia.

Commit of the Week - Honey Grove 2026 RB Ryelan Morris

The 5-foot-9, 170-pounder committed to Baylor before the start of the 2024 season, but his commitment should not be overlooked or forgotten about. Morris was among the top overall performers at the UA Next Camp in Dallas with a 4.48 laser-timed 40-yard dash.

Underclassman of the Week - C.E. King 2028 WR Dillon Mitchell

The 5-foot-8, 170-pounder set a Bluebonnet Invitational freshman record with a 10.29 100-meter dash, which led to 10 new offers on Saturday: Houston, Texas Tech, SMU, Florida, Grambling, Georgia, Baylor, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Marshall.
