This Week in 'Crootin!

Diving into the latest Texas high school football recruiting news with three weekly superlatives: Prospect on the Rise, Commit of the Week, and Underclassman of the Week.

Don't miss our discussion on Texas Football Today, where I break down this notebook in more depth with Greg Tepper and Ashley Pickle.

Prospect on the Rise - Wolfforth Frenship 2025 DB Bryce Garza

The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder did not sign in the Early Signing Period and picked up two new offers from North Texas and Texas State to go with offers from Air Force, Louisiana Tech, Navy and Sam Houston.

Commit of the Week - Alamo Heights ATH Michael Terry III

The 6-foot-3, 210-pounder chose Texas over Nebraska and Oregon, signing his Letter of Intent on Wednesday and securing the Longhorns' No. 1 national ranking.

Underclassman of the Week - Cibolo Steele 2026 RB Jonathan Hatton Jr.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound four-star decommitted from Oklahoma and picked up new offers from Oklahoma State and Michigan State, bringing his offer tally to 24. Texas A&M, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and USC have all offered.
