UTEP offensive coordinator Jake Brown is stepping down to pursue other opportunities, per a report from FootballScoop.

Brown spent one season with the Miners as part of Scotty Walden's inaugural staff. While not the primary playcaller, he helped develop wide receivers Kenny Odom, Kam Thomas and Trey Goodman while also serving as a primary recruiter for UTEP 2025 class, which finished atop Conference USA according to 247Sports.

Before UTEP, Brown was the co-offensive coordinator and receivers coach at Louisiana Tech for two seasons. There, he helped develop Tre Harris into a Biletnikoff Award finalist in 2022.

Brown has spent time at numerous Texas programs, including Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, Stephen F. Austin and West Texas A&M.
