Texas High School Football rules the nation, and hundreds of players each year go on to play at the next level. But that begs the question: Have you ever wondered how many of those players stay or return to the state?

Here’s your answer as to which program’s roster is made up of the most former TXHSFB players, percentagewise, and it may shock you.

The Sam Houston Bearkats check in at No. 1 out of the 13 FBS teams with 83 percent of its roster being made up of former homestate players. Sam Houston is located in Huntsville, Texas, near Houston. It’s a great, centralized location to pull athletes from all parts of the state.

Now, that’s impressive, but what about the team that has the MOST number of former Texas high school football players on its roster? That would be the Texas Tech Red Raiders with 98.
