Brady (7-1, 3-0) at Tolar (7-1, 3-0):
A potential district title is up for grabs in 5-3A Division II as the district’s last two unbeaten teams will square off Friday night in Hood County.
Brady rolled to an easy 41-15 win over Dublin last week, as the running game carried the Bulldogs. Johnny Menefield ran for 137 yards and two touchdowns, and Ashton Taylor added 120 yards and three touchdowns rushing in the victory.
Tolar, which moved up to 3A Division II after making the state title game in 2A Division I a year ago, had a coaching change this offseason and lost a stellar senior class. Yet, first-year head coach Blake Mouser has won seven of his first eight games at the helm. In last week’s 41-0 rout of Clifton, RB Peyton Brown led the charge with 112 yards and three scores on the ground. The Rattlers' defense held Clifton to just 114 yards of total offense on the night.
Both teams love to run the ball, but Tolar’s play up front and the tough running of Brown will lead the way against the smaller and quicker Bulldogs.
