With Luke Wilson and Tristan Dare holding down the edges, Southlake Carroll’s offensive line has become the backbone of one of the state’s most balanced offenses. The two sophomores, with their combination of size, athleticism and football IQ, caught our immediate attention in a district win over Justin Northwest, so it was no surprise to hear they already have the attention of college scouts.

At left tackle stands Luke Wilson, a 6-foot-6, 250-pounder, who has the privilege of playing alongside his older brother, Trent Wilson, a senior and James Madison commit. Luke attributes much of his success to Trent's guidance.
“Playing next to my brother has been a blessing. All summer, he helped me work, and I pushed myself harder than ever to earn this spot,” Wilson said. "My height and arm length really set me apart. Being able to punch first, especially in pass protection, gives me a huge advantage. It’s all about getting that early start on the defensive end.”
Colleges have taken notice of Wilson’s potential, with James Madison among those showing early interest—following his brother’s footsteps is a real possibility.
With over two years until he has to sign, Wilson is also keeping all of his options open, but he does have strong ties to TCU, where his father, Travis Wilson, played tight end. North Carolina is one of his dream schools, and he attended a camp at SMU.
"I'm just looking forward to getting into this college stuff and maybe making a name for myself over these next few games and into the playoffs," Wilson said.

On the right side of the line, 6-foot-4, 265-pound Tristan Dare has made a seamless transition to Southlake's highly competitive 6A football scene after moving in from the private school ranks.
"On the first day, I did not know a soul, and this man right here, Luke Wilson, came up to me, and we have been rocking ever since," Dare said. "He was so helpful for me, and I can't thank him enough for it."
"Southlake Carroll is an amazing program. It is unbelievable how well the program is run and how the coaches prepare us."
While he has settled in at right tackle for the Dragons, Dare will be viewed as a versatile college prospect who could play anywhere on the offensive line, including center.
He's already secured his first offer from Wisconsin and colleges like Texas A&M, Oklahoma, TCU, SMU and Stanford are closely tracking his development.
"I think one of my biggest strengths is my ability to move," Dare said. "I think that is a huge asset, especially at o-line, keeping up with these faster guys who can run around - defensive ends and linebackers. I have also developed a stronger punch, keeping these defenders off of my body and being able to hold them out, using my leverage against them."

Wilson and Dare are just getting started, but their presence on Southlake Carroll's offensive line is already felt and is helping the duo secure the attention of college programs locally and nationally.
