Earlier this week, a reporter asked Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian what he'd need to see to make an in-game switch at quarterback. Sarkisian didn't give an answer then, but he did on Saturday night.

Down 20-0 in late in the second quarter against Georgia, Sarkisian put redshirt freshman quarterback Arch Manning into the game in relief of Quinn Ewers. Ewers was 6-for-12 up to that point for 17 yards and one interception. He'd also suffered a sack fumble which gifted Georgia a possession in the red zone. The Longhorns offense had five total yards. 

Manning's first drive gained a first down due to a facemask penalty on Georgia, but Texas was forced ton punt after Manning missed a 3rd anf 6 throw to DeAndre Moore Jr. On his second drive, he suffered a sack fumble that gave Georgia another field goal and a 23-0 lead going into halftime.

Sarkisian told the broadcast he inserted Manning to give the offense a spark and settle Ewers down. Ewers started the second half.
