Industrial ISD reassigned athletic director/head football coach Craif Nairn Wednesday morning, naming defensive coordinator Alan Fellers as the interim head football coach for the remainder of the 2024 season. This was first reported by Mike Forman of the Victoria Advocate.

Industrial is off to a difficult 0-5 start. The season began with a lot of hope as the Cobras posted an 8-4 mark in 2023, falling to arch-rival Edna in a thriller in the third round of the 3A-Division I playoffs. The Cobras dropped to 3A-Division II in the most recent UIL Realignment with hopes of making more noise regionally after winning 18 games in Nairn’s first two seasons.

The Cobras have lost three games by eight points or less, including last week’s district opener to Tidehaven, 21-13. Nairn’s tenure at Industrial ends with an 18-12 overall record.

Coach Fellers head coaching debut will be Friday night at the Cobras visit Van Vleck, who is 3-3 and 1-1 in district play.
