Victoria West (6-0, 2-0) at Alamo Heights (6-0, 2-0):

Surprising Victoria West will look to send a statement to Region IV and the entire state this week as they travel to third-ranked Alamo Heights looking to stake their claim on the 13-5A Division II race.

Victoria West is led by an offense averaging nearly 43 points per game. Last week, the Warriors rolled to a 45-26 win over Kerrville Tivy; the defense had three first half interceptions to help them to a 31-6 halftime lead. QB DJ Martinez led the offense with a pair of touchdown passes and a touchdown run.

As expected Alamo Heights had no troubles with San Antonio Harlandale as the Mules rolled to an easy 55-9 win. Four-star athlete Michael Terry, III had 111 yards from scrimmage and hauled in a pair of touchdown passes, while RB DK Garza ran for 128 yards and four touchdowns.

This will be a massive road test for Victoria West going to Orem Stadium to tangle with the Mules. The key for VWHS is they’ll need another fast start like they’ve gotten the past two weeks. If Victoria West jumps out quick they have a chance at the upset, but this Alamo Heights bunch has a singular player in Terry and some nice pieces around him and it makes them a tough out.
