8:17 p.m. - North Alabama ties the game with Tarleton at 14 midway through the third quarter. Texans QB Victor Gabalis returned tonight after suffering an injured hand in the first half against McNeese. However, the passing game has been nonexistent for Tarleton.

8:15 p.m. - No. 6 Navarro leads No. 5 Kilgore 10-6 at the half in a game that has lived up to the billing through one half. 

8:02 p.m. - Angelo State's offense continues to struggle, but the Rams have a 7-0 lead late in the first half over Western N.M.

8:00 p.m. - Kilgore is on the board following a 95-yard punt return for a TD by Melvin Polk (Weatherford HS). However, the Rangers trail Navarro 10-6 after the snap on the PAT was low, forcing a mad scramble and an eventual interception.

7:58 p.m. - It's good to see PVAMU's offense get going in the second quarter to take a 14-3 lead over Southern at halftime.

7:57 p.m. - UTPB needs only one minute and eight seconds to score in the second half with Dylan Graham finding Ben Patterson (Fort Worth All Saints) for a 71-yard TD to pull the Falcons within 17-14 of TAMUK early in the third.

7:55 p.m. - UIW has a bit of breathing room now, leading 24-14 against Northern Arizona. The offense marched down the field for a TD on the opening drive of the second half.

7:53 p.m. - This is the SFA team I expected to see this season. The 'Jacks have absolutely dominated UNC in the first half and lead 28-0 with 9:23 left in the 2nd quarter. SFA's offense has 266 total yards in the game's first 20 minutes.

7:37 p.m. - Idaho takes a 14-0 lead with some trickeration on a reverse pass. It's nice to see Wildcat Stadium full! A great crowd of around 12,000 on hand tonight!

Learning how to handle success is a real thing for teams not used to experiencing success. That's where Lamar currently sits under Peter Rossomando. However, this is part of the learning process and not something to be concerned about.

The Huskies have played two FBS teams (SMU and UTSA) and No. 20 Tarleton thus far. It's safe to say they will be ready for Southland competition. However, they have another road game at Indiana State next week before conference play.

5:07 p.m. - Cisco 34, No. 10 Trinity Valley 30 Final

The Wranglers sack the QB on the final play of the game and two plays after the Cardinals overthrew a wide-open receiver in the back right corner of the end zone. Cisco opens SWJCFC action with a victory, while TVCC has lost SWJCFC road games in consecutive weeks. The Wranglers travel to meet No. 5 Kilgore next week while TVCC will try to get right when they host Air Force Prep next Friday. Live stats are unavailable.

4:28 p.m. - Western Oregon 39, Sul Ross 17 Final

Carson Workman (Hendrickson HS) led the Lobos rushing attack with 72 yards and a TD on two attempts and Tucker Bridwell (Pampa HS/Howard Payne) connected with Yamil Oaxaca (Montwood HS/UTEP) for a 14-yard TD. SRSU continues Lone Star Conference play next week with a trip to Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Jesse Valenzuela (Ventura College) scored the Huskies TD with a 20-yard run. Eli Brickhandler (North Carolina A&T) leads the HCU passing attack, completing 5 of 8 passes for 75 yards.

4:06 p.m. - Hendrix 35, Southwestern 20 Final

The Pirates pulled within two midway through the third quarter before the Warriors passing attack found its rhythm once again. SU was led by Christian Reeves (Highland Park HS), who led the rushing attack with 69 yards and a TD on eight carries. Jameel Martin (Cleveland HS) shined on defense with 12 tackles (11 solo), one tackle for loss, one interception, and broke up two passes to lead Soutwestern's defense.

3:48 p.m. - Mary Hardin-Baylor 35, No. 3 Wisconsin-Whitewater 17 Final

The Cru pull off the massive upset on the road over the Warhawks! Kamerin Ferguson (Decatur/Southwest Baptist) gained 112 yards and a TD on six rushing attempts, AJ Williams III (Spring HS) added 100 yards and a TD receiving, and the defense finishes with five interceptions for UMHB. Da'marion Morris (Little Cypress HS) finishes with 10 tackles, one tackle for loss, two interceptions, including one returned for a TD to lead the Cru. Is UMHB back? The Crusaders add to their lead with a 96-yard TD run by Kamerin Ferguson (Decatur/Southwest Baptist), who found room on the left side of the Warhawks defense and outraced the defensive backs to the end zone.

The Lobos offense struggled to execute inside the Wolves 30-yard line, with three drives resulting in a field goal by Carlos Arreola (Clint HS), a missed field goal, and a turnover on downs. QB Andrew Martinez (El Paso Eastwood HS) leads SRSU with 77 yards passing and 25 yards rushing.

The Tigers will have plenty to work on after watching the tape of this game. The good news is they'll be watching following a win. Trinity has a solid defense, but the offense remains a work in progress. The Tigers open SAA action next week at Centre.

Touchdowns by Christian Reeves ( and Leroy Rodriguez ( has kept the Pirates in a game that has seen the Warriors outgain Southwestern 300-177 in the first half. Individual stats are not available at this time.

2:17 p.m. - Mary Hardin-Baylor 28, No. 3 Wisconsin-Whitewater 7 Halftime

Isaac Phe hit Asa Osbourn (Denison HS/Navarro/Oklahoma State) for an 11-yard TD to give the Cru a 21-point lead heading into the half. It was a crazy half of football featuring eight turnovers, including five forced by the UMHB defense. Neither team's rushing attack has gained any traction with UMHB gaining five yards on 12 attempts, and the Warhawks rushing for 41 yards on 21 attempts. UMHB needs its offense to hang onto the ball and its special teams unit to shine. UWW's lone TD came on a blocked punt.

The Tigers lone touchdown was scored by Johnny Milo (Caney Creek HS) on a six-yard run.

It hasn't been a good start for the Tigers offense. Tyler Huettel (McKinney HS) has kicked FGs from 18 and 45 yards for Trinity, while the Generals benefitted from a pick-6 to take the lead. The Generals are giving the Tigers offensive line problems thus far. Jerheme Urban didn't show confidence in his offense on its first drive after electing for a field goal when facing a fourth down at the two-yard line.
