At some point in the not-so-distant future, Chase Coleman will leave Frisco for the glitz and glam of Los Angeles.

For now, though, he'll continue his starring role for Frisco Memorial.

His main objective is to get the Warriors over .500 and into the playoffs, something that hasn't happened since he arrived on campus three seasons ago. Memorial won two games in each of the previous two seasons and is 0-3 so far in 2024.

It’s senior season for Coleman, and he refuses to focus on any obstacles the season may bring. Instead, he hopes to make his last season of high school football his best, and make some valuable memories along the way.

“I’m excited to compete with my friends one last time,” Coleman said. “I’m blessed.”

On April 10, Coleman committed to UCLA over Florida, North Texas and Texas State. When it came down to a decision, UCLA’s coaching staff won Coleman over. He sees the process that the coaches are laying out, and he trusts it.

Coleman has an especially strong relationship with Bruins head coach DeShaun Foster. He also has a strong bond with cornerbacks coach, Kodi Whitfield, and sees him as a mentor beyond the football field.

“I feel like Coach Foster is going to build something special down there,” Coleman said. “I also really like Coach Whit[field] and I know he is going to make me a better football player and man.”
