Texas is a state that loves bragging rights and the Texas A&M Aggie football team has it for which school has the most popular home schedule for the 2024 season. Texas A&M reigns supreme among in-state FBS teams in-terms of demand for tickets. The Longhorns come to College Station this year, and boast a very impressive home schedule themselves with the #1 team in the country coming to Austin in November. Below we rank the popularity of home schedules for each FBS school in the State of Texas.

We ranked the teams based on ticket sales and demand. That includes overall sales, velocity of ticket sales, remaining tickets and current ticket prices. We only considered home games and not neutral site or away games in this ranking. Please note: this is not a list of the best teams in Texas or our favorite teams. We are based in Texas and love college football so don’t @ us that we’re haters. We’re just looking at the hottest and most in-demand home games.

1. Texas A&M

Home Games: Notre Dame, McNeese State, Bowling Green, Mizzou, LSU, New Mexico State & Texas.

Texas A&M has the greatest home football schedule in the history of the program. This season the Aggies welcome Notre Dame, LSU, Mizzou, and Texas to Kyle Field. That amazing schedule, and the arrival of Coach Mike Elko, has Aggie fans fired up to get to Kyle Field. The top A&M home game is against Texas. Ticket prices on the Horns game are high and show no signs of coming down. If you cannot make it for that game, the season kickoff game against Notre Dame is nearly as popular and our ticket inventory is already low on that game.The best value game for cheap tickets is McNeese State in Week 2. If you are shopping for A&M tickets at Kyle Field we feel the lower endzone seats (Section 116-118) are good value as well as the 200-level club seats.

2. Texas

Home Games: Colorado State, UTSA, LA-Monroe, Mississippi St, Georgia, Florida & Kentucky.

Texas is back! After a CFP Playoff berth and heading into the first season in the SEC Conference, demand for new Conference opponents is huge. DKR is going to be packed for the first SEC home game against Mississippi State but that’s just the start. The game everyone in Austin wants to be at is vs Georgia in November, which falls on the same weekend that Austin is hosting the F1 race. If you are coming to town for that game plan ahead, hotel rooms are in short supply. The lowest priced tickets are for the Louisiana Monroe game in September.If you still need to buy seats for a Texas home game we think the lower endzone seats (Sections 14-16) are a good value within DKR.

3. SMU

Home Games: Houston Christian, BYU, TCU, FSU, Pitt, Boston College & Cal.

Yes, SMU is 3rd in our list ahead of a few big in-state schools. The Pony Express has delivered a ton of major ACC games to Dallas and their fans are buying tickets for them. Our phones have been ringing off the hook for Florida State in late September as SMU fans are looking for a statement win against the Seminoles. A close second in demand is when the Ponies host their rivals from Fort Worth in the Iron Skillet game.The best deal on tickets is Houston Christian where you can buy tickets for cheap and treat all your friends.

4. Texas Tech

Home Games: Abilene Christian, North Texas, Arizona State, Cincinnati, Baylor, Colorado & West Virginia.

The Red Raiders boast a solid home schedule that is highlighted by a few of their new Big 12 conference opponents. The most popular game is when Coach Prime comes to Lubbock in November. There are a couple of cheap tickets games (ACU, North Texas) on the Red Raiders schedule but the best value game may be vs Arizona State where “get in” tickets have been hovering around $20. The WVU game is also selling for less than expected for fans wanting to book ahead for a late season game.

5. Baylor

Home Games: Tarleton State, Air Force, BYU, Oklahoma State, TCU & Kansas.

The Bears have a great football stadium and solid home schedule. We were in McLane Stadium last season and it is beautiful with a great game day experience. The Bears would be higher on this list, but don’t have a must-see opponent on their home schedule. Okie State (a preseason top 20 team), TCU and BYU are all receiving solid interest from ticket buyers. The cheapest Baylor home games are Tarleton State & KU.

6. TCU

Home Games: LIU, UCF, Houston, Texas Tech, Ok State & Arizona.

The Horned Frogs open with Long Island University. Apparently, they play football in New York City, but we’ll see how the baby Sharks do against a team from Texas.This opener will not have the hype that TCU did last year coming off a playoff appearance and playing against Coach Prime’s squad. The one thing LIU is winning is the cheapest TCU tickets.The schedule going forward gets better at Amon Carter with visits from Houston, Tech, Okie State & Arizona. The UCF game in September is currently the hottest game on the schedule.

7. University of Houston

Home Games: UNLV, Rice, Iowa State, Utah, Kansas State & Baylor.

The Cougars have a solid home schedule in their first season in the Big 12. Most home games are available starting at $25 a ticket, including an all-Houston showdown with Rice. The home opener vs UNLV is the cheapest game to attend.

8. Texas State

Home Games: Lamar, UTSA, Arizona State, Arkansas State, Louisiana, Southern Miss & Georgia State.

A great season last year has really perked up interest among fans to attend Bobcats home games. Texas State hosts Arizona State early which is driving the most interest from fans.The Sun Devils are the biggest name of an out-of-state team to play at Bobcat Stadium since Navy in 2014. The season opener against Lamar is the least expensive Bobcats home game.

9. UTSA

Home Games: Kennesaw St, Houston Christian, FAU, Memphis N. Texas & Temple.

This is the year of the Owl for UTSA as the Roadrunners take on 4 schools this season with an Owl as mascot. Their most popular home game is vs FAU and cheapest is the opener with Kennesaw St. The Alamodome typically limits capacity to 36k fans for UTSA home games which creates some demand for better seats along the sideline without the entire cavernous upper-deck available.

10. Rice

Home Games: Sam Houston, TX Southern, UNC Charlotte, UTSA, Navy & South Florida.

The Owls host Navy & South Florida, which are their most popular home games. There are a few games to choose from for fans looking for cheap Rice tickets. The Navy game could heat up if they are coming into Houston with a great record thru their previous 7 games. 

11. UTEP

Home Games: Southern Utah, Sam Houston, FIU, Middle Tennessee State & Kennesaw State.

The Sun Bowl is a cool stadium and UTEP is playing 5 home games there this season. Fans in EP should be able to find cheap tickets all season long.
