The Texas and Texas A&M rivalry on the football field returns on Nov. 30 as the long-time rivals are scheduled to play for the first time in over a decade. The two programs held a joint press conference in Houston on Thursday morning as athletic directors Chris Del Conte and Trev Alberts announced a sponsorship with Cotton Holdings for the Lone Star Showdown.

"The most important thing we could do was restore this rivalry," Del Conte said. "Rivalries are what separates college football from other sports. Being back (playing) is great for the state and both institutions."

Cotton Holdings, Inc. is a leading infrastructure support services company with subsidiaries that conduct business under the Cotton Global Disaster Solutions, Cotton Roofing, Cotton Logistics, and more. Cotton provides property restoration and recovery, construction, roofing, consulting, workforce staffing, and temporary housing and culinary services to public and private entities worldwide, according to its website.

The Longhorns lead the series on the football field, 76-37-5. The last meeting was a 27-25 classic won by Texas on a last-second field goal by Justin Tucker. They first played in 1894.

"I think this has a chance to be the best rivalry in the country," Alberts said. "That's how much passion exists for this game in this state."
