It was a big day for SMU on the recruiting trail as it flipped two major targets from in-state P4 rivals TCU and Texas Tech.

SMU Flips Elite 11 QB from TCU

First, 247Sports four-star IMG Academy (Fla.) QB Ty Hawkins (6'0, 190) announced his decision to transfer to IMG Academy (Fla.) yesterday and today flipped his commitment from TCU to SMU.

Hawkins, who played at San Antonio Johnson before moving to Florida, helps the Mustangs fill the void left by Keelon Russell's switch to Alabama.

Ty Hawkins Scouting Report: Hawkins is a true dual-threat quarterback with dangerous running ability. He boasts a quick release and a precise deep ball, showing remarkable accuracy on downfield passes. Known for his competitive nature, he loves to press the action. Hawkins was an Elite 11 finalist.

Arlington Colts WR Flips from Texas Tech

Next, SMU flipped three-star Arlington 2025 WR Isaiah Robertson (6'0, 185) from Texas Tech.

Robertson, who also had offers from Arkansas and Kansas, has collected 79 passes for 1,062 yards and eight scores over the past two seasons.

Isaiah Robertson Scouting Report: Robertson is an outstanding athlete with an imposing frame. He possesses good body control and adjusts well to the ball in the air. His strong hands allow him to make catches on contested balls. He is at his best in the deep passing game but understands how to use his frame and can consistently get open in the intermediate passing game.
