Lovejoy WR Daylan McCutcheon (6'0, 175) is set to make his commitment at the Lovejoy Indoor facility on July 13th at 12:00 PM CST, between SMU, Texas, Florida State, Ohio State, and USC. He took official visits to all five programs. 

McCutcheon, who is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 20 prospect overall in the 2025 DCTF Rising Hot 100, previewed his upcoming decision. 

SMU: McCutcheon loves the relationship he has with Coach Likens and Coach Lashlee. He feels comfortable at SMU because former Lovejoy standout Jaxson Lavender is on the team, and other Lovejoy alumni attend the university, giving him a sense of familiarity.

Texas: Coach Jackson at Texas impresses McCutcheon with his straightforward and organized approach. He appreciates that Coach Jackson is honest and doesn't sugarcoat things, especially in the receiving room. 

Florida State: The family-oriented environment at Florida State stands out. He likes being on campus, interacting with the players, and appreciates the culture under Coach Norvell and Coach Dugans. The sense of community and shared mindset with the players made an impact. 

Ohio State: Ohio State comes across as highly professional. He was impressed by their competitive practices and believed that being there would help him develop as an NFL talent. The football-centric mindset of the players was noticeable. 

USC: McCutcheon had a great visit to USC, enjoying his time with Coach Lincoln Riley and the other receivers. He was impressed with how Coach Riley develops and recruits receivers and is excited about how he would be used in the offense.

As a junior in 2023, McCutcheon collected 94 receptions for 1,430 yards and 20 touchdowns.
