Allen and Byron Nelson qualified for the Texas State 7v7 in College Station with strong showings. 

The host squad (Allen) got strong play out of a defense led in the secondary by 2026 CB Lebron Bauer (5'10, 170) and 2026 CB Kai Wheaton (5'10, 170). Bauer, who holds offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Houston, Texas Tech, and more, looked good at playing safety while displaying leadership qualities. On offense, 2025 QB Brady Bricker (6'2, 195) hooked up with 2026 WR Caleb Smith (5'9, 155) early and often. 

Byron Nelson is led on defense by 2025 DB Leo Almanza (6'2, 170), who had one of the day's best overall plays with a leaping interception in the middle of the field versus Arlington Lamar. Alamnza has already been on one official visit to Utah and is set to see Texas Tech, Kansas State, Baylor and Houston. His younger but bigger brother, 2026 TE Parker Almanza (6'3, 215), was the star of the offense, using his size to outbody defenders. Parker holds an offer from Arkansas State.  

Prosper Rock Hill 2025 DB Jayden Bradley (6'1, 185) continues to impress with his size, athleticism and physicality. His recruitment has started to take off with FBS-level offers from Tulsa and Virginia, but he is still one of the state's hidden gems. 

Sachse 2025 WR Kaliq Lockett (6'2, 175) was the top-rated prospect at the event and it was no surprise that he had most of the day's eye-popping plays. He is a true deep-ball winner with a massive catch radius. He is about to embark on an official visit tour to see LSU, Texas A&M, Florida State and Texas. 

DeSoto is a team blessed with a lot of up-and-coming talent who are already established as major prospects, so heading into this tournament, we wanted to check on some of the players who are under the radar or underclassmen. The first player who caught my eye was 2026 DB Jordan Stevens (6'1, 170). The Dallas Carter transfer has the size and length you look for and quickly closes on the ball. 

DeSoto 2025 CB Caleb Holmes (5'8, 150) collected 18 PBUs last season and has picked up a recent offer from Abilene Christian. 

DeSoto 2025 DB Canden Mathis (5'10, 160) is noticeably stronger and bigger, which will pay dividends in a loaded district. He's picked up offers from Abilene Christian, UTPB and East Central. 

We would be remiss not to mention DeSoto 2027 WR Ethan "Boobie" Feaster (6'1, 170), who is already one of the nation's most heavily offered players but is becoming a go-to guy in the offense, and he seemed to have a natural rapport with 2025 Virginia Tech QB commit Kelden Ryan (6'2, 200). 

Richardson Pearce 2025 QB Presley Harper (6'0, 190) had a good day leading the Mustangs to the championship round, showcasing tremendous accuracy as he dropped deep passes in the bucket. It was unsurprising to learn that he has an offer from Murray State. 

Arlington Lamar is loaded with young talent. 2027 WR Trenton Yancey (6'0, 185) has over 20 scholarship offers and is blossoming physically as he enters his sophomore season. He's firmly established as one of the top prospects in the state regardless of class. He's quick in and out of his cuts and physically imposing. I love the Deebo Samuel comparison that DCTF's Carter Yates made following last week's Arlington SQT. 

Arlington Lamar 2025 DB DeAnte Gentry (5'11, 175) had a strong day in coverage and has been offered by North Texas, Louisiana Tech and Arkansas State. 

Richardson Berkner is becoming a hotbed for talent under Trey Bryant's direction. 2025 Houston LB commit Richmond Ugochukwu (6'1, 190) might have been the most physically imposing player there, showing off his overall athleticism in coverage. We like his fit in the Big 12 because he is a versatile defender who plays well in space. 

Richardson Berkner 2025 ATH Kobi Foreman (5'11, 175) was impressive on both sides of the ball, and he has some significant official visits coming up, including SMU and Oklahoma State. 

The future of the Rams' offense is in good hands with 2027 WR Kamarri Davis (5'9, 160), who is lightning-quick in and out of his cuts. UTSA has already offered. 

Arlington 2025 WR Isaiah Robertson (6'0, 185) was one of the best offensive playmakers, could get open quickly, and showed off good hands in concentration on 50-50 wins. He remains locked in with his commitment to Texas Tech.
