The Big 12 Conference released its first-ever schedule for the 16-team format debuting in 2024.

The Big 12 has added eight new teams in the past two seasons to compete in the conference realignment sweepstakes after Texas and Oklahoma's departure. Here's a recap for those whose head is understandably spinning with the teams shifting. BYU, Houston, UCF and Cincinnati joined last fall. Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State and Utah defected from the crumpling Pac-12 to join in 2024.

The Big 12 and the Big Ten will play nine conference games, while the SEC and ACC play eight.

Baylor

Baylor gets the honor of playing ten games against a conference opponent, but only nine will count for their conference record. The Week Two matchup traveling to Utah was scheduled as a non-conference game and will be denoted as such. The Bears kick off their conference slate on Sept. 21 when they travel to Colorado. They face the three other Texas schools within a five-game span in the backhalf of the schedule (at Texas Tech Oct. 19, hosting TCU Nov. 2, at Houston Nov. 23).

Houston

Houston renews an old Southwest Conference Rivalry with Baylor on November 30, the first time the two schools have played each other since 1995. The Cougars also travel to TCU in Week Six in a game that's still up in the air whether it will be Friday or Saturday. They miss Texas Tech, but get a tough draw with Pac-12 imports Arizona and Utah.

TCU

TCU plays all three Texas schools within a four-game span. They host Houston Week Six, have a bye week, then travel to Utah, host Texas Tech and travel to Baylor for the Bluebonnet Battle. Of note, TCU-Baylor is one of four annual rivalries protected by the Big 12, which is the fewest of any conference.

Texas Tech

Five of Texas Tech's first seven games are at home, but they have some tough Big 12 conference games on the road. The Red Raiders travel to Arizona, TCU, Iowa State and Oklahoma State. They only host two Big 12 schools that have been in the conference since 2022 in West Virginia and Baylor.
