Texas continues to feast on Alabama's roster exodus in the wake of the legendary Nick Saban's departure. The Longhorns now have two of Alabama's top three leading receivers from 2023. Tight end Amari Niblack, announced his transfer to Texas, joining wide reciever Isaiah Bond. He was the No.1-rated tight end in the transfer portal, according to 247Sports.
Niblack, a former four-star in the class of 2022 from Lakewood High School in Florida, broke out for the Crimson Tide this season with 20 receptions for 327 yards and four scores, one of which came against Texas in Week Two. He opted to exercise his 30-day transfer window after Saban's retirement and has now settled on the Forty Acres.
It's a huge get for Steve Sarkisian's offense after two-time All-Conference tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders announced his entry into the NFL Draft. Niblack is an imposing athlete at 6-foot-4-inches, 233 pounds, who can create matchup nightmares in similar fashion to Sanders. He'll have to compete in spring practice with incoming senior Gunnar Helm for the nod to succeed Sanders.
Niblack has two years of eligibility remaining.
