Texas enters 2024 with a mixed bag of knowns and unknowns on the roster for the Longhorns’ first year as an SEC program.

The two-deep was bolstered by the return of starting quarterback Quinn Ewers, as well as key transfer portal additions like Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Bond and Clemson safety Andrew Mukuba. Young and mostly inexperienced talent from Steve Sarkisian’s recruiting classes must also step up.

Texas lost its top running back (Jonathon Brooks) as well as its top five receivers (Xavier Worthy, AD Mitchell, Jordan Whittington, JT Sanders, Brooks). The offensive unit does return four of the five starters along the offensive line. The defense must replace Outland Trophy winner T’Vondre Sweat, defensive tackle Byron Murphy, and leading tackler Jaylan Ford.
