Waco Connally 2024 CB Kobe Black (6'0, 190) has committed to Texas over offers from LSU, Oklahoma State, Oregon and Texas A&M.

"You know, it is like a family down there," Black said. "They show me so much love, and it already feels like I'm a part of it, and they let me know that I'm very big (on their board) and that they really, really want me. Them showing that much love; I've got to show love back."

"Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian) and Coach Joseph (Terry Joseph), I have great relationships with both of them."

Black is rated as the No. 1 CB in the 2024 DCTF Rising Hot 100, checking in as the No. 7 prospect overall.

Black has the lockdown skills to thrive on the island at cornerback, but he also has the downhill speed and size of an elite safety.

His ability to play anywhere in the secondary should help him see the field early in his college career.

"They know I can play it all," Black said. "I have got the size, speed, and I'm smart enough to be able to play anything. That really helps me a lot to get on the field faster and also get into the league because, you know, in the league, they like people that can play any position."

Black collected 36 tackles, nine PBUs, two interceptions, 337 rushing yards, 305 receiving yards, and scored 11 touchdowns to earn first-team all-district and honorable mention all-state honors as a junior in 2022.
