ARLINGTON -- Thursday's highly anticipated 4A DI State Championship between Anna and Tyler Chapel HIll was over before it started.

Anna sophomore quarterback Ziondre Williams had a senior's poise from the first drive, piloting a 9-play, 65-yard drive that ended in an Edward Chumley rushing touchdown. The next time he got the rock, he scrambled out of multiple tackles in the backfield to convert a 4th-and-7 attempt and give Anna a field goal.

His calm demeanor gave Anna head coach Seth Parr the confidence to make a tone-setting call midway through the 2nd quarter. Anna senior wide receiver Jabari Finnie took a punt return down the right sidline to set up the Coyotes in goal-to-go. Resting at the two-yard line on fourth down with a 10-0 lead, Parr decided to go for it. His players rewarded him with another Chumley rushing touchdown. 

Williams finished 17-of-25 for 171 yards and a touchdown. Chumley was awarded the game's Offensive MVP after compiling 102 total yards and three touchdowns.

The 26-0 final score was set at halftime as a shocked hush fell over AT&T Stadium. Chapel Hill's high-powered offense, captained by SMU commits in quarterback Demetrius Brisbon Jr and running back Rickey Stewart (2,797 yards and 40 TDs on the year), managed 19 total yards on 23 plays. Anna senior linebacker CJ Miller had a performance for the ages to close out an illustrious high school career, earning Defensive MVP honors with 15 tackles, three of them coming behind the line of scrimmage.

Chapel Hill's fan base roared for the Bulldogs as they ran out for the second half, and for a moment it appeared they'd breathed the last gasp of hope into the team. Brisbon finally got a chance to show off his tantalizing speed with a 19-yard scramble on 3rd-and-6 near midlfield. On 3rd-and-14 later in the drive, he tossed it to sophomore wide reciever Demarcion Blaylock, who broke two tackles to put Chapel Hill in the redzone for the first time. 

But Anna senior linebacker Grayson Stewart quelled any hopes of a miraculous comeback. Stewart sacked Brisbon on third down to set up a 4th-and-18. Brisbon broke out of the backfield and got in the open field, but Stewart chased him down from behind and forced a fumble, letting Anna sit on the ball and melt away the rest of the third quarter.

A sack on the ensuing drive gave Chapel Hill one last chance to make it a ballgame. Brisbon captained a 17-play, 83-yard drive, completing 4-of-7 passes to give Chapel Hill a 2nd-and-Goal opportunity on Anna's two-yard-line. The Coyotes stonewalled them with senior linebackers Nathan Nickerson, Abram Greer and Miller. 

Anna gets its first state championship in school history. Next year, they'll move up to 5A Division II.
