During his welcoming, new Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko made one message abundantly clear: he will be prioritizing Texas high school football coaches, programs, and players.
"First of all, to the Texas High School Coaches Association," Elko began.
"I understand our role in representing this great state of high school football. The talent in this state, the programs in this state, and the coaching in this state are absolutely elite, and we understand our role in partnering with that group and becoming a resource for all of the elite and all of the aspiring high school coaches in this state. We will connect with them. We will reach out to them. We will be open to them, and they will always have a place in this program."
