Prospect on the Rise

Aldine Nimitz 2025 OLB Javar Thomas (6'3, 200) picked up new offers from SMU and UTSA. 

The Mustangs and Roadrunners bring Thomas's offer tally to four, joining Baylor and TCU. 

Thomas is an intriguing prospect because he is quick to the football, rangy, and plays with high energy.  

Commit of the Week

Bellaire Episcopal 2024 QB Karson Gordon (6'3, 200) committed to UCLA.

Gordon is rated as a DCTF three-star prospect, checking in as the No. 17 QB prospect in 2024. 

Scouting Report: Gordon is a smooth athlete, playing quarterback. His track prowess sets him apart. He was the Texas Gatorade Boys Track & Field Player of the Year, posting a 51-5.75 triple jump at the Texas Relays and a 21.72 200-meter. While his track prowess is evident, he is also an efficient and improvisational passer who his coaches laud for commanding the offense and expertly understanding the Xs and Os.

Underclassman of the Week

Prosper 2025 OL Connor Carty (6'4, 285) picked up new offers from TCU and Oklahoma this week. 

Carty is a part of the state's best offensive line unit, playing alongside fellow D1 prospects like Ellis Davis (Texas Tech), Tyler Mercer (Tulane) Zaden Krempin (2026) and Sean Stover (2026). 

Carty now boasts more than 15 offers, including Baylor, Houston, SMU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Nebraska, Oregon, Stanford and more. 

Recruit of the Week

Galena Park North Shore 2025 CB Devin Sanchez (6'2, 170) is the newest DCTF five-star prospect.

Sanchez, who has collected more than 30 offers, has announced that he will commit on Jan. 6 during the All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.

His final three are Texas A&M, Alabama and Ohio State. 

Sanchez helped lead North Shore to the 6A Division I state title game in 2022, and the Mustangs are currently rated No. 1 in 6A.
