Beaumont United offensive tackle Weston Davis has flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to LSU, according to reports. Davis is a 4-star prospect and is ranked as the second-best offensive lineman in Texas and the 22nd-best player overall. The 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman announced his commitment to the Aggies in June. 

Losing Davis is another massive blow to the Aggies' 2024 recruiting class and the second top recruit to decommit from Texas A&M in the last 10 days. Silsbee 5-star wide receiver Dre’lon Miller announced he was decommitting from the Aggies on Oct. 17.

Davis initially chose Texas A&M over LSU, Alabama, and Oklahoma. He is a multi-sport athlete with a background in basketball and football. He is known as a player with significant upside, considering he’s only played football for two years. He’s an effective pass blocker who needs to enhance his aggressiveness in the run game.

It was leaked in late September that Davis was taking an official visit to Texas but announced he had a change of heart and canceled the visit. However, his interest in attending other official visits left questions about his commitment to the Aggies.
