Timpson 2024 ATH Terry Bussey (5'11, 175) was named the final five-star prospect in the 2024 DCTF RISING Hot 100, rounding out a top five list that includes Lake Belton WR Micah Hudson, Duncanville DE Colin Simmons, Silsbee WR Dre'lon Miller and Conroe Oak Ridge LB Justin Williams.
Bussey committed to Texas A&M during a live Commitment Announcement Special broadcast, selecting the Aggies over offers from Texas, Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma in front of a packed gym at Timpsom High School.
Bussey is already an icon in East Texas, earning Mr. Texas Football honors following a standout junior campaign.
As a junior in 2022, Bussey accounted for 4,773 yards of total offense and 80 total touchdowns, guiding Timpson to the 2A Division I state semifinals. Defensively, he tallied 115 tackles and five interceptions, returning four for touchdowns. He returned three kickoffs for touchdowns on special teams and added a punt return for a score.
Bussey has been named to the Mr. Texas Football Watchlist for 2023 with a chance to become the second player in the award's history to be a two-time winner (Kyler Murray).
Did you know? Bussey also runs track and plays basketball and football at Timpson.
The state's No. 1 ATH was noted as the nation's fastest prospect per the Under Armour Camp Series, which features most of the nation's top-ranked players.
Bussey has committed to play in the Adidas All-American Bowl on January 6, in the Alamodome in San Antonio. The Bowl will be nationally televised on NBC at 12:00 PM CST.
