According to multiple accounts, Texas A&M’s sack leader DL Shemar Turner was arrested in College Station Monday for reckless driving. Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle was first to report.

Turner reportedly averaged 85 miles per hour in zones marked 35 to 45 in College Station. He also ran a red light. The incident occurred on August 12 but the officer witness was “unable to safely overtake the vehicle” due to the high speeds, according to the Brazos County Jail records, so he was arrested a month later for said offenses. He was released on $3,000 surety bond.

The report details that Turner wasn’t aware of how fast he was going nor the speed limits in the areas he drove through.

The DeSoto product is A&M’s sack leader with two through two games and has started both games so far this season.
