Mineral Wells head coach and boys athletic director Seth Hobbs resigned on Thursday morning.

Hobbs has spent the past two seasons as the Rams’ head coach posting an 8-13 overall record and a playoff appearance in 2021. The Rams started out the 2022 season at 3-0, but they dropped their final seven games to finish with a 3-7 mark.

Prior to being promoted to head coach in 2021, Hobbs served as the defensive coordinator under previous head coach Gerald Perry.

Mineral Wells ISD is expected to post its head coaching job in short order. Defensive coordinator Clint Clayton has been named the interim head coach and will oversee the football offseason and boys athletic programs for the time being.

Mineral Wells plays in District 4-4A Division I and will open their 2022 season on the road at River Oaks Castleberry.
