El Campo 2023 RB Rueben Owens II (5'11, 190) committed to Texas A&M over offers from TCU, Texas, Georgia, Louisville and Ohio State.

The news of his pledge to play for the Aggies quickly followed his decommitment from Louisville

Owens is rated as the No. 1 RB and a five-star prospect per the DCTF Hot 100. He was selected for the Whataburger Super Team and will play in the 2023 All-American Bowl in San Antonio.

Owens was the first freshman to earn MVP honors at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase.

As a senior in 2022, Owens capped off a remarkable Texas high school football career with 1,785 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns.

Scouting Report: Owens is the complete package at running back, producing eye-popping stats. He owns 10.68 100-meter speed, and his quick lateral movements allow him to break defenders down in the open field.
