San Benito (7-0, 2-0) at Harlingen (7-0, 2-0)

It’s the Battle of the Arroyo and it’s always a big deal when Harlingen and San Benito get together, but when Harlingen and San Benito get together and both teams are unbeaten, it’s a HUGE deal.

After getting challenged in the district opener two weeks ago, both teams dominated last week in lopsided wins.

San Benito rolled past Brownsville Rivera, 49-3, last week as the Greyhounds defense again was simply suffocating; San Benito on the season is allowing less than five points per game. Aaron Garza provided the ‘Hounds all the offense they needed with three rushing touchdowns.

Harlingen rolled past Brownsville Hanna, 41-0. The Cardinals offense has been the story this year as they average over 45 points per game. QB Randy Morales threw for two touchdown passes, connecting with Justin Sosa and Paul Price for scores. RB Izaiah Bell and ATH Aiden Sandoval each pitched in touchdowns in the ground.

This is a classic offense vs defense showdown, but Harlingen gets the edge in this one being at home and having played the more challenging schedule.
