Klein Collins (3-0) vs Klein Oak (2-0)

It’s a battle of Klein ISD unbeaten teams as Klein Collins, who made their way into the state rankings this week, tangles with a Klein Oak squad coming off back-to-back bye weeks.

Collins was idle last week, but they were in action in Week 3 when they won a thriller over a good Humble Summer Creek squad, 20-17, thanks to a special teams touchdown and some outstanding defense in the second half.

We last saw Klein Oak on September 1 when they knocked off Katy Cinco Ranch 40-35, a win that has aged extremely well, considering Cinco Ranch last week just demolished Kay Tompkins. Oak QB Lucas Scheerhorn and RB Kaleb Black were the keys for the Panthers in the win over Cinco.

This is another pick’em type game and a fantastic district opener. The real concern for me with Klein Oak is do they have rust going into this one with nearly three weeks off? Klein Collins starts fast and hangs on down the stretch.
